​Jennifer Burns MAOM, LAc is passionate about what it means to live a vibrant healthy life. She has molded this interest into helping individuals become the best versions of themselves, using her knowledge of Chinese Medicine, compassionate listening, and sense of humor. 

The care of her patients is something she takes extremely seriously. She strives to bring her best to each interaction and empower each person with the tools, understanding, and courage to lead their healthcare journey. 

While she considers herself a general practitioner and thrives in treating various health concerns, she has also created a specialty within her practice focusing on gynecological disharmonies with emphasis on fertility restoration. A variety of patients come to her, including those who want to avoid the western healthcare paradigm, and those who are concurrently under the care of Assisted Reproductive Technologies. She supports each of her patients in achieving their goals in a way that feels right for the individual, providing support and education if they are unsure which path is most suitable for their case. Jennifer's excitement and honor in being an integral part during these momentous moments and transformations is incomparable.

Education

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida.

Further, Jennifer graduated from a 3255 hour, 10 semester Master's Degree program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). This program qualified her to sit for the four National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) exams. She has successfully passed each of the four national board exams for practice, including:  Acupuncture with Point Location, Biomedicine, Chinese Herbology, and Foundations of Oriental Medicine.

National Certification

​The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is the only recognized national governing body in the US which regulates the standards for education in Oriental Medicine. It administers national board examinations in Acupuncture with Point Location, Biomedicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Foundations of Oriental Medicine. It awards the titles of Diplomate of Acupuncture, Diplomate of Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine for successful completion of educational requirements and the passing of national board exams.

Seeing any practitioner who has completed accredited Oriental Medical schooling and national board exams in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Oriental Medicine that were administered by the NCCAOM, is crucial if you are seeking the proper application of Oriental Medicine.

​ Alana Wang MAOM, LAc is a National Board Certified and Licensed Acupuncturist in VA. She entered the field of acupuncture while looking for natural ways to help people with their health challenges. Her training is in Traditional Chinese Medicine and treatment options include acupuncture, acupressure, gua-sha, and cupping. These methods are known to decrease inflammation and increase circulation and range of motion. Alana uses an individualized approach with each patient and takes time to understand the nature of their ailment. She values the choices patients make in their daily lives and believes in the connection between healthy eating, exercise, and emotional well-being. Optimal health can be achieved by building a bridge between Eastern and Western Medicine and Alana's treatments focus on both without undermining the power of either.
